Local sources in Kabul have told Chiragh TV that in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of the city, the Taliban’s Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has arrested and imprisoned dozens of women for not being accompanied by a male guardian (mahram) and for not observing proper hijab.
According to the sources, the girls and women were transported to prison in Taliban vehicles, and people were not allowed to take photos or videos of the incident.
This comes as the spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice denied yesterday that women had been arrested or imprisoned in Kabul.
