Taliban Identify 250 Emerald Mines in Panjshir

Officials from the Panjshir Province Directorate of Mines and Petroleum say that around 250 emerald mines have been identified in the Paryan district of the province.

Mohammad Qasim Amiri, the Taliban-appointed head of Mines and Petroleum in Panjshir, stated that the legal extraction process of these mines will begin soon. According to him, the mining operations are expected to create employment opportunities for around 100 people.

It is worth mentioning that since the Taliban came to power, the extraction of oil, gas, coal, and precious stones has significantly increased in Afghanistan.

In the past four years, the Taliban have signed contracts for the extraction of various Afghan mines with domestic companies as well as with international partners, including China and several other countries.
