Taliban Inspect Young People’s Phones in Dasht-e-Barchi

Residents of Kabul’s Dasht-e-Barchi area told Chiragh TV that the Taliban are stopping young people in the area and checking the mobile phones in their pockets for monitoring purposes.

The exact reason behind the Taliban’s inspection and control of residents’ phones in Dasht-e-Barchi is still unclear. However, two days ago, dozens of women were arrested in the same area by the Taliban’s Department of Vice and Virtue for not having a male guardian (mahram) and for not wearing “Islamic” hijab.

It is worth mentioning that according to an order by Taliban leader Mullah Hibatullah, no one is allowed to check others’ mobile phones, as it is considered a violation of personal privacy. Despite this, the Taliban continue to act in contradiction to their leader’s directive.
