Local sources in Herat told Chiragh TV on Friday that unidentified gunmen shot and killed a tribal elder named Khalil Ahmad Yousufi.
According to the source, the attackers were riding a motorcycle when they opened fire on Yousufi, killing him on the spot. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Meanwhile, Herat provincial Taliban authorities have confirmed the incident but have not provided further details regarding the circumstances of the killing.
