According to a statement by the Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, on Thursday, a total of 45 Afghan refugee families—comprising 212 individuals—returned from Pakistan via the Spin Boldak border crossing and arrived in Kandahar. After being registered, they were transported to their respective home provinces.
The statement also noted that on the same day, 18 Afghan refugees who had been imprisoned in Pakistan were released and returned to Kandahar through Spin Boldak.
It’s worth mentioning that in recent months, the Pakistani government has forcibly deported thousands of Afghan refugees. Many of these returnees are now facing serious challenges in Afghanistan, including lack of shelter, healthcare, and employment opportunities.
