Following Israel’s announcement to expand military operations and establish full control over the Gaza Strip, the German government has suspended all military equipment exports to Israel and called for an immediate ceasefire.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated in a press release that, until further notice, no weapons or equipment that could potentially be used in Gaza will be exported to Israel.
Merz emphasized that initiating ceasefire talks is one of Germany’s top priorities and expressed deep concern over the severe hardships faced by civilians in Gaza.
