Abdul Samad Javid, the Taliban-appointed governor of Ghazni province, has instructed his subordinates during a recent gathering not to allow funeral or mourning ceremonies for individuals who have committed suicide.
He stated that those who take their own lives should not have any funeral or prayer ceremonies, and no one should be permitted to conduct such rites.
Additionally, the Taliban have banned reporting on suicide cases, instructing all journalists to refrain from publishing news related to suicides.
It is worth noting that suicide incidents among youth have increased since the Taliban’s return to power, largely due to hunger, unemployment, poverty, and psychological distress.
