Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has announced the arrest of two members of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during a special operation in Karachi.
According to the CTD, the detained individuals are named Abdul Wakeel and Ajmal, both residents of the Qila Abdullah district in Balochistan.
Authorities stated that the suspects received military training in Afghanistan and maintained close ties with a wanted militant, Sharifullah Mehsud.
It is worth noting that the Pakistani government has repeatedly claimed that TTP members receive support from the Afghan Taliban—an allegation the Afghan Taliban have consistently denied.
