According to a statement released by the Taliban’s Supreme Court, 16 individuals were publicly flogged in Kabul Province, receiving between 10 and 39 lashes in front of onlookers.
The statement says these individuals were punished in central Kabul on charges of trafficking and selling narcotic substances.
It further notes that the convicted individuals were also sentenced to prison terms ranging from eight months to three years.
The Taliban reportedly issued these punishments for the sale and trafficking of drugs such as Zykop, Tablet K, hashish, and alcoholic beverages
