General Habibullah Alizai, former Chief of Staff of the Afghan National Army under the previous republic, has stated that the Taliban do not constitute a legitimate government, but rather represent a criminal group operating within Afghanistan.
According to Alizai, the Taliban have provided safe haven to armed terrorist organizations, thereby destabilizing both Afghanistan and the broader region. He emphasized that the Taliban’s past crimes and betrayal of the Afghan people cannot be concealed through diplomatic means.
Alizai also called on the Taliban to cease the killing and torture of former military personnel.
