The German Foreign Ministry has announced that more than 200 Afghans—previously part of Germany’s asylum and relocation program—have recently been deported by Pakistan back to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.
German Foreign Ministry spokesperson Joseph Hüntersier has called on Islamabad to allow these individuals to return to Pakistan and continue the process of obtaining their German visas.
Hüntersier added that Pakistani police had previously detained around 450 Afghans who were part of Germany’s evacuation program for Afghan collaborators, and so far, 211 of them have been deported to Afghanistan.
According to him, some individuals have been returned to designated camps, but approximately 350 others still face the risk of deportation.
