Zalmay Khalilzad, the former U.S. envoy for Afghan peace affairs, wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) account that the upcoming meeting in Pakistan between anti-Taliban Afghan figures and Pakistani officials has been organized by Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI.
Khalilzad further stated that while the ISI has not officially claimed direct responsibility for the event, it has prepared the list of participants and facilitated visa arrangements.
It is worth noting that on August 25 and 26, several anti-Taliban Afghan personalities are expected to meet with Pakistani officials in Pakistan
