A joint investigative report by the Human Rights Support Center and the University of Cambridge in the UK states that the Taliban have violated seven core United Nations human rights conventions in Afghanistan.
According to the report, the Taliban have disregarded treaties related to the rights of women, children, protection from torture, and civil, social, and cultural freedoms—committing widespread violations.
The report also evaluates the limitations of UN institutions and proposes new, practical strategies to safeguard human rights.
