A doctor from Khost Provincial Hospital, speaking to Chiragh Television on condition of anonymity, said that in the past 14 days, 43 suicide attempts and incidents have been registered at the hospital from both the center and districts of Khost province.
The doctor stated that some of the individuals involved in these incidents were saved by the province’s medical staff.
He added that these suicide cases have various causes, but most of the youth attempt suicide due to poverty, economic hardship, unemployment, family issues, and psychological pressure.
Meanwhile, residents of the province told Chiragh Television that the Taliban have banned funeral and mourning ceremonies for those who commit suicide, and they also prohibit media from reporting such incidents.
