🇬🇧 Afghans in Britain Hold Appreciation Ceremony for Blind Hero Wali Mohammad in London

On Monday, August 25, 2025, a group of Afghan activists in London held an appreciation ceremony for the blind Afghan hero, Wali Mohammad Noori.
Wali Mohammad Noori is an Afghan athlete who, despite being blind, has won 25 international medals in running and swimming. In addition to his athletic achievements, he has also excelled in motivational speaking, public awareness, and humanitarian efforts—earning him an honorary doctorate from the prestigious University of Essex in the UK.
Wali Mohammad expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of the ceremony, saying that such events inspire him to strive for even greater accomplishments.
It’s worth noting that sixteen years ago, Wali Mohammad was a soldier in Helmand province, Afghanistan, when he tragically lost both eyes in a cowardly attack by the Taliban.
