Bulgarian media reported that police in the country detained 24 Afghan nationals during a search operation in the Chariovo region of Bulgaria. The individuals were found inside a cargo truck.
According to the report, the Afghans intended to travel through Bulgaria to other European countries to seek asylum. However, they were apprehended by Bulgarian police and transferred to a refugee camp.
It’s also worth noting that two days earlier, Turkish police detained dozens of Afghan asylum seekers in the city of Dogubayazit and sent them to a refugee camp
