Richard Bennett, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights for Afghanistan, stated in a recent interview with PBS television network that Afghanistan is currently not a safe place for anyone.
According to him, women, girls, and those who worked with foreign forces over the past twenty years are now facing serious threats in Afghanistan.
Bennett emphasized that engagement with the Taliban—an authoritarian regime—has so far yielded no results.
He strongly asserted that the continued rule of such a hardline regime like the Taliban is not beneficial for global security, especially for the United States
