According to a press release from the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Switzerland is offering support and assistance to those affected by the earthquake in Afghanistan.
The statement reads: “We express our sympathy to all the victims of this tragic event.”
The ministry added that the aid will be distributed to the earthquake victims through Switzerland’s humanitarian office in Kabul.
It should be noted that the earthquake on Sunday night claimed the lives of approximately 820 people and injured around 2,500 others in the provinces of Kunar, Laghman, and Nangarhar. Several villages in Kunar were completely destroyed as a result.
