The World Health Organization (WHO) stated in its latest report that the scale of the disaster caused by the earthquake in eastern Afghanistan continues to rise. According to the organization, more than 1,400 people have died, over 3,300 have been injured, and around 8,000 homes have been destroyed. The death toll may increase further as search and rescue teams reach remote areas that were previously inaccessible.
The report noted:
WHO added that thousands of families have been displaced, with many earthquake survivors now living in temporary shelters, urgently needing emergency assistance and support.
