United Nations: Taliban’s Current Regime Becoming Increasingly Authoritarian

In its latest report, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights stated that the current Taliban regime in Afghanistan does not represent the people and is becoming more authoritarian by the day.
The report, which evaluates the Taliban’s policies, decrees, and regulations, notes that the group has stripped girls and women in Afghanistan of their fundamental rights—including access to education, employment, healthcare, and social participation.
According to the UN, the Taliban continue to violate human rights daily and are intensifying their policies.
It’s important to note that this report was prepared for the 78th session of the Human Rights Council, taking place this week, and covers the human rights situation from August 2024 to July 31, 2025
