Taliban Detain Girl in Herat for Teaching Mathematics

Local sources in Herat told Chiragh Television that agents from the Taliban’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice arrested a female teacher at an educational center for teaching mathematics and science subjects.
Her family confirmed the arrest and stated that they have repeatedly visited the Taliban’s provincial office in Herat to request her release, but their appeals have been rejected.
This incident is part of the broader crackdown on girls’ education under the Taliban regime. Since their return to power, female students across Afghanistan have been deprived of access to education, facing increasing restrictions and censorship.
