In its latest published report, the International Crisis Group (ICG) stated that the suspension of aid to Afghanistan by the United States and other international humanitarian organizations is driving the country toward deep poverty and hunger.
The organization warned that if the U.S. and other global partners do not resume assistance to Afghans, the level of poverty will rise further, and the population will face a severe crisis.
It is worth noting that the U.S. has shut down several of its aid programs in Afghanistan, claiming that the Taliban were benefiting from them instead of the general population.
