Residents of Kandahar city told Cheragh Television that the Taliban’s intelligence agency has increased surveillance over people’s lives in the province.
According to them, this is the third time the Taliban intelligence office has distributed forms requiring detailed information about all family members.
One Kandahar resident told Cheragh Television: “In these forms, the Taliban ask for information about all male family members—what jobs they have, what jobs they had before—and even request complete details about women and children.”
They said the Taliban have warned that if the information provided in the forms is incorrect, the head of the household will be arrested and punished.
Kandaharis say this kind of surveillance has negatively affected daily life, and people are living under a cloud of fear.
The Taliban have not commented on the registration of households in Kandahar.
