The Taliban equate the sacred freedom of King Amanullah Khan with their own terrorism

Today, Tuesday, on the 28th of Asad, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid issued a statement in which he equated the freedom gained under the leadership of King Amanullah Khan from the British with the Taliban’s own acts of terrorism. He also gave the same title of “Mujahideen” to both the warriors of that time and the current Taliban fighters.
At the same time, Afghan activists on social media have condemned the statement as an insult to the Afghan people. They stated that the Taliban’s war against the republic was anti-Afghan, and in addition to killing hundreds of thousands of Afghans, they destroyed Afghanistan’s roads, schools, mosques, and bridges under Pakistan’s orders. These terrorist activities, they argue, are in no way comparable to the sacred struggle and the freedom achieved by King Amanullah Khan.
