Taliban flog man and woman in Baghlan over alleged illicit relationship

According to a statement released by the Taliban’s Supreme Court, on Saturday in Baghlan province, a man and a woman were publicly punished for allegedly engaging in an unlawful relationship.
The statement said both individuals were flogged 35 times each in front of a crowd and sentenced to three months of imprisonment.
International human rights organizations have called on the Taliban to halt such punishments, which they describe as violations of human dignity and humanity
