Turkish police arrest 24 Afghan asylum seekers in Doğubayazıt

Turkish police have reported that they arrested 24 Afghan asylum seekers in the city of Doğubayazıt who had entered the country illegally.
According to the police, the Afghans were hiding in two cargo trucks when they were apprehended and subsequently transferred to a refugee camp.
The truck drivers were also arrested on charges of human trafficking and have been handed over to judicial authorities.
It is worth noting that, alongside Iran and Pakistan, Turkey has also accelerated the process of identifying, detaining, and deporting Afghan asylum seekers. Every day, many Afghans are arrested and expelled from Turkey.
