Taliban Flog 9 People in Khost and Logar for Alleged Illicit Relations

The Taliban-controlled Supreme Court announced in a statement on Wednesday that nine individuals, including four women, were publicly flogged in Khost and Logar provinces on charges of engaging in illicit relationships.
According to the statement, the individuals were whipped between 20 and 39 times in front of a public audience and sentenced to six months to two years in prison.
This incident is part of a broader pattern, as the Taliban continue to administer corporal punishments across various provinces. International human rights organizations have repeatedly called for an end to these practices, but the Taliban have refused to comply.
