The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) reports that in Afghanistan’s eastern provinces, more than half of the casualties from the recent earthquakes are women and girls.
According to the organization, women, girls, and children have suffered the most from these earthquakes and are now in urgent need of psychological support.
The organization adds that the full extent of this disaster is still unclear, and it is possible that the number of casualties may rise even further.
They also note that some remote areas have yet to be assessed, and access to them remains difficult
