Special envoys from Pakistan, China, Russia, and Iran have expressed concern that terrorist groups such as Daesh (ISIS), al-Qaeda, Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Jaish al-Adl, Balochistan Liberation Army, and the East Turkestan Islamic Movement are active in Afghanistan. This situation is considered a serious threat to the region.
Pakistan’s special envoy for Afghanistan, Mohammad Sadiq Khan, stated on Tuesday that these concerns were raised during a special meeting of representatives from the four countries.
According to him, the countries pledged to jointly combat terrorism originating from Afghan soil. They also emphasized their support for a stable, peaceful, and non-interventionist Afghanistan.
It is worth noting that these discussions took place during the seventh Moscow Format meeting, in which the Taliban also officially participated. The threat of terrorism from Afghanistan was regarded as a serious concern for neighboring and regional countries.
