Organization for the Support of Afghan Journalists: Afghan Reporters Face Serious Challenges in Neighboring Countries

The Organization for the Support of Afghan Journalists said in a report published on Tuesday that Afghan journalists in Pakistan and Iran are facing serious threats, a situation that has deeply concerned the organization.

According to the statement, Afghan journalists in these countries are subjected to arbitrary arrests, threats, forced deportations, and denial of basic rights.

The organization added that many of these journalists fled Afghanistan due to their work defending freedom of expression and human rights, but now they are facing security risks abroad. In particular, the suspension of visa renewal processes in Pakistan has become a major obstacle for them.

The statement called on international institutions, including the United Nations, the European Union, and the UNHCR, to urgently assist Afghan journalists and fulfill their responsibilities in helping resolve the ongoing challenges they face.
