The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense announced in a statement on Tuesday that 730 kilograms of opium were seized in the Lidrik area of Bahramcha district, Helmand province.
According to the statement, the opium was skillfully hidden in a vehicle and was being smuggled from Pakistan into Afghanistan when it was intercepted by Taliban forces.
The statement also said that three individuals were arrested in connection with the narcotics, and weapons and satellite phones were also seized during the operation.
