French President Emmanuel Macron announced on his X (formerly Twitter) account that France plans to officially recognize Palestine as a sovereign state during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly session in September.
Macron stated:
“We hope that the official recognition of the State of Palestine will be a positive and constructive step toward the peace process in the region.”
He added that this decision is aimed at facilitating the realization of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
