A journalist reporting from the Spin Boldak-Chaman border told Chiragh TV that on Friday, a young man, overwhelmed by long-term poverty and unemployment, poured petrol on himself and set himself on fire by striking himself with a lighter.
The journalist added that local people immediately took the man to a nearby hospital. Later, a local businessman named Haji Lali Adozi personally funded his transfer to a reputable hospital in Quetta for further treatment.
It is worth noting that since the closure of the Spin Boldak-Chaman border crossing, widespread unemployment has surged on both sides. People have protested demanding the reopening of the border, but so far, no concrete attention or solution has been provided to address this issue.
