Local sources from Takhar have told Chiragh Television that unknown armed individuals have killed a Taliban military member in Taloqan, the capital of the province, and managed to flee the area.
According to the source, the slain Taliban member was named Khodaydad Rahimi and was originally from the Aqtaash district of Kunduz province.
The source also stated that Rahimi was considered a close associate of Mawlawi Seerat, one of the local Taliban commanders.
The Taliban have unofficially confirmed the death of Khodaydad Rahimi, but they have not issued any official statement so far.
It is worth noting that no armed group has claimed responsibility for the killing of the Taliban member yet.
