The Ministry of Interior of Pakistan has announced that it has granted permission to several major hotels in Islamabad—including Marriott, Serena, Best Western, and Mövenpick—to sell alcohol to their customers, provided they obtain the proper license.
The Pakistani government has instructed hotel owners to inform authorities when importing alcohol and to ensure that all applicable taxes are paid to the state.
