On the occasion of the fourth anniversary of Taliban rule, the Emergency organization has issued a warning about worsening health conditions in Afghanistan.
According to its report, economic challenges, restrictions on women’s work and travel, and a lack of resources have placed significant pressure on the country’s healthcare system.
The organization states that around 70% of the population lacks access to free or affordable healthcare services, and 22.9 million Afghans are in need of humanitarian assistance.
It further notes that travel restrictions on women have particularly limited access to treatment for sick women, sometimes resulting in death.
It’s worth noting that Emergency, which has been operating in Afghanistan since 1999, currently manages 40 healthcare facilities across the country, with women making up 23% of its staff
