World Food Programme: 20% of Afghanistan’s Population Faces Food Shortages

The World Food Programme (WFP) has reported that approximately 9.5 million people in Afghanistan are currently facing food insecurity and are in need of assistance.
According to the organization, it can only provide aid to around one million Afghans per month, leaving the remaining population without support.
WFP further states that 20% of Afghanistan’s population is experiencing food shortages and must receive timely assistance.
The organization has warned that if aid is not secured for these individuals by October of this year, the number of people affected will increase, and many more Afghans will face severe food insecurity
