UNICEF and the World Food Programme (WFP) have launched a joint initiative in Afghanistan aimed at preventing child malnutrition. The program seeks to save the lives of vulnerable children and improve maternal nutrition.
UNICEF reports that Afghanistan has faced a severe food crisis over the past five years, ranking among the most affected countries globally.
According to the organization, more than three million children under the age of five are impacted by malnutrition annually, with over 10% suffering from severe acute malnutrition
