Findings from Chiragh Television indicate that seven individuals, including one woman, have committed suicide in the past four days in Khost city and several surrounding districts.
The reported suicides were attributed to economic hardship, poverty, domestic violence, and similar social pressures.
Since the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, incidents of suicide—particularly among youth—have increased due to rising poverty, unemployment, and related challenges.
It is worth noting that the Taliban have recently issued a directive prohibiting funeral and mourning ceremonies for individuals who die by suicide.
They have also instructed media outlets not to publish news or reports related to suicide cases.
