On Sunday, the Taliban’s Supreme Court issued a statement announcing that four individuals were publicly flogged in the Chahar Asiab district of Kabul on charges of theft and illicit relations.
According to the statement, three individuals were sentenced to 39 lashes each for engaging in illicit relations and were also handed three-year prison terms.
One individual was sentenced to 39 lashes for theft and given a one-year prison term.
The punishments were carried out in public, in front of local residents.
