The World Food Programme (WFP) has warned in its latest report that due to reduced financial resources and declining international aid, thousands of mothers and children in Afghanistan have been left without assistance.
According to the report, 9.5 million Afghans are facing a food crisis, and 4.6 million mothers and children are in urgent need of humanitarian aid.
The report further states that this year alone, 3.5 million young children and more than one million pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are at risk of severe malnutrition
